A Mega lok Adalat for redressal of pending property tax cases would be held in the State capital on December 12. At the lok Adalat, cases related to waiver in surcharge over property tax would be decided.
Bhopal Municipal Corporation is organising the lok Adalat on the basis of State Govt’s orders. Additional Commissioner GP Mali on Tuesday reviewed the preparations of orgainising the Mega lok Adalat and instructed to take necessary steps for making the event proper and beneficiary for tax payer and collector.
State legal Services Authority Jabalpur has issued orders of organising Mega lok Adalat on Dec 12, 2015 and using powers provided under section 162 and 163 of State Municipal Corporation Act 1956 BMC would provide 100 percent waiver of surcharge in property tax of `50,000 and 50 per cent waiver of surcharge in property tax of `1 lakh and 25 per cent waiver of surcharge in property tax over `1 lakh would be provided.
The waiver would be provided once and would be applicable for the dues of property taxes for the year 2014-15. After the waiver property tax could be paid in two installments and 50 percent of the amount has to be paid at the Mega lok Adalat on Dec 12.
During the review Mali instructed to provide data of residents having surcharge of all the wards to the zonal officers and ward in- charges and along with the data for providing receipts arrangements of hand held devices and computers should be made. Announcements of organising dates should be made across the wards of National Mega lok Adalat. The details of the number of cases and collected money from all the cases should be shared after the National Mega lok Adalat.
