Over three dozen children participated in the quiz and debate organised with the title ‘Aao milkar jashn e azadi ka saptah manyae’ (Come celebrate freedom week).

The programme that lasted till late in the night saw huge attendance by the locals who gathered to boost the morale of the participating children.

The participating children debated over the sacrifices of the Muslim religious leaders and revolutionaries in the freedom struggle of India besides quiz over the same was also held on the occasion.

The winners of the contest on Friday were Uneza who stood first, Uzma Khan stood second and Purvi Bharat and Zainul. As per the format of the programme though names of the winners were immediately announced but the prizes would be distributed to them on August 16 in the grand finale of weeklong programs to be held at Itwara Square.

All India Muslim Personal law Board member and former Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesman Arif Masood addressing the gathering on the occasion said it’s been 70 years since the country got freedom. When it is said that the Muslim religious leaders played important role in the freedom struggle of the country than some people says to read history books which don’t have any mention of those sacrifices. The names of Muslim revolutionaries have been deliberately scrapped through a conspiracy. We are organizing these programs to make the young generation aware with the sacrifices and role of Muslim religious leaders and revolutionaries in the freedom struggle. “The freedom struggle was fought jointly by the Hindus and Muslims of the country but surprisingly the names of only Muslims     have been scrapped, we would also knock the Supreme Court doors against this injustice with the community revolutionaries,” Masood said.
