A delegation of local residents, led by senior Congress leader Govind Sharma and members of Nagar Jagrati Manch, met Indore Commissioner, Akash Tripathi, demanding not to shift the tehsil office.

In the memorandum submitted to the Commissioner, it was demanded not to shift the office to Mhowgaon which is at the end of Mhow geographical area where there is no approach road and public transport. It was also pointed out that no local resident would be able to reach the office, if it is shifted to a new location.

It was mentioned that in the year 1989-90, thousands of congressmen, under senior congress leader Mishri Lal Khandelwal, had done a hunger strike and walked till Delhi and then CM of MP, Arjun Singh, brought this tehsil from Mhowgaon to its present place—Mhow and also inaugurated this new Tehsil builing which is in the centre of Mhow town and is well connected with villages with fourlanes from all sides and all the important offices of Government are situated around Mhow tehsil office.

The Congress leader told that the new tehsil building in Mhowgaon will be around 30 to 40 kilometres from hundreds of villages of Mhow Tehsil area. Due to the better functioning of this present Mhow Tehsil office, the former SDM, Mhow Swati Meena, has sent a proposal to Government for construction of a few rooms at this place due to the availability of land and parking facility and connectivity of this present tehsil office from all parts of Mhow through fourlane.
