A villager has died after being struck by lightning while three others sustained burns in separate incidents in this district during the past 24 hours, police said.
The incident took place when three people, including a woman, were returning after offering puja at a temple in Sankh forest last evening. Kukrai village-resident Sirpat lal died on the spot after being struck by lightning while Sakhtiya Bai and Manas were injured.
Farmer Mahipal Verma took shelter in a make-shift hut at his field to protect himself from unseasonal rain, but he was struck by nature’s fury and sustained severe burns. He was admitted to a hospital at Chorai, police added.
