The screening was a big hit as a huge crowd was seen at the auditorium. The movie watchers of the city enjoyed the movie with a lot of ecstasy. The movie surrounds the story of a Jewish man has a wonderful romance with the help of his humour, but must use that same quality to protect his son in a Nazi death camp.

The storyline follows at Italy in 1930, where a carefree Jewish book keeper named Guido starts a fairy tale life by marrying a lovely woman from a nearby city. Guido and his wife have a son Joshua and live happily together until the German force attacked there. In an attempt to hold his family together and help his son survive the horrors of a Jewish Concentration Camp, Guido imagines that this all is a game and the grand prize for winning is a tank.

All through the movie, Guido behaves as if everything that is going on is fun. The small kid believes what his father says and does not question this fiction because of his father's convincing performance and his own innocence. At the end his father was caught by American soldiers and Joshua lived with his mother. The story is narrated by an older Joshua. The Bhopalites had a wonderful experience watching the movie on a big screen.
