"We as celebrities do endorsements to promote the product, if someone has a problem with junk food they should heartily give up on it. But I will not give up my endorsements", says Bollywood power player Priyanka Chopra.

Notably, Priyanka Chopra is presently in Bhopal for the shoot of her upcoming Bollywood flick Gangaajal 2. Here on Thursday she addressed a programme organized by UNICEF concerning the anaemic problem in adolescent girls of Madhya Pradesh. While commenting over the endorsements of junk food by celebrities, Priyanka clearly stated that she will undoubtedly do these endorsements. If anyone has a problem they should give up on junk food.

Priyanka said that she doesn't have a private lab at her home to test each and every product she endorses for, so she believes whatever the company states in the contract and if the food is approved by the Government of India she does the endorsement. She bluntly quoted that if people have problem with junk food they should stop eating junk and if people stop consuming junk food companies will stop producing it and celebs will stop endorsing for it.

In the recent past, celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Madhuri Dixit were into headlines for endorsing the Maggi advertisement. Maggi was recently banned from the Indian market by the Government of India as it contained lead that causes cancer. And so, these celebs were issued a notice from the Government agency and also they had to face a lot of negative comments of their fans.

Over this Priyanka stated, "When we sign a contract with any company we are told that the product is safe and we see that it is approved by the Government of India. Then only we sign the contract. But later when we find that the product contains harmful ingredients we stop doing it."

"It totally depends on the people how they take on it. If they are consuming it, the product comes in the market and if people will stop consuming it, the product with vanish away. It is as simple as that." Here Priyanka very confidently said that she will not at all leave her endorsements for anything. She will continue doing them as and when they will come.

She further said, "I have millions of people following me on Twitter. Some complements me and some take me negatively. But this has never harmed me. I do whatever I like." On the other hand, on asking about if she brought a change in society after being in touch with UNICEF for the past 10 years and if she has some suggestions for Government to take further steps, Priyanka said, "When I will step in politics I will definitely bring some fruitful changes and improve the society. But as for now I can't give any suggestions to the Government."
