leader of Opp demands Mishra's resignation

Demanding resignation of Minister Narottam Mishra, leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh has demanded from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to immediately cancel the decisions taken by Mishra in Cabinet meetings held after June 23.

In a statement, Singh alleged that the Election Commission had on June 23 in its decision declared Mishra not eligible and thus since then, his decisions participating in cabinet meeting become unconstitutional.

He stated that on June 23, Mishra had lost right to remain on the post and later, Delhi High Court has also endorsed it on July 14.

Despite being not eligible, Mishra’s continuation on the post is contempt of constitutional bodies.

This way, both the Chief Minister and the Minister are responsible for contempt.

Singh also demanded that despite having no powers to attend the cabinet meetings, he attended them and received salary and perks.

Singh also demanded from the Chief Minister to recover the salary and perks, the Minister received till date from June 23. He stated that if Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan believes in the constitution of India and the constitutional institutions like High Court and Election Commission of India (ECI), he should immediately follow the orders of the ECI and the Delhi High Court.
