A 22-year-old youth was beaten up by advocates on the district court premises on Monday. The victim has been admitted to Hamidia Hospital, where his condition was reportedly stable.

Police said the victim Halke Ram of Udaipura from Raisen district, had come to Bhopal district court for applying bail of his brother-in-law and sister-in-law. For the purpose, he approached advocates Hemendra Jain and Abhay Jain, who demanded `2000 as their fee.  However, Halke requested them to take `500, as he did not have enough money. After being thrashed, Halke fell unconscious and was rushed to JP Hospital, from where he was later referred to Hamidia Hospital.
