Jamat e Islami state president Hamid Baig addressing the gathering on the occasion said that through this awareness drive we wish to remove ignorance about family related Islamic laws and to increase family sensitiveness among the Muslims. “I am hopeful that this program would bring a major change in the community,” he added.

AIMPlB member Arif Masood in his address said that attempts to intervene in the Shariah laws are being made and at this point of time we need to remain united by resolving our personal differences. “We would not tolerate any interference in our personal laws, attempts are being made by the ruling regime to interfere in Shariah laws on the pretext of Triple talaq. Religious independence is our constitutional right,” Masood said.

National convener of the program Maulana Zafar from Delhi said that those trying to corner the community over the issue of triple talaq should be made aware with the Islamic teachings while those who exploit women taking support of triple talaq should be socially boycotted. “On earlier occasion also the bill against triple talaq was tabled in the parliament but looking at the opposition of Muslim community government said that we do not have any intension of passing this bill,” Zafar said.

He emphasized over the need to reform among the Muslim community.
