The Galaxy hospital on Kolar road Bhopal has claimed that it has been using latest technologies in performing difficult revision knee and hip replacement.
While talking to media persons here on Thursday, Dr SK Gupta of the hospital said that the incident of arthritis is growing in Indian society very fast and increasingly younger generation is suffering from arthritis in early stage of their life.
He further said, “The reasons are our customs and traditions. We Indians perform various activities like sitting on floors for doing pooja, eating food, making foods, we climb stairs very frequently and as results we damage our knees. If we climb stairs pressure equal four times of body weight comes on knees and if we sit on floor and get up 8 times body weight comes on our knee. These activities lead to early arthritis.”
As younger and younger patients comes with symptoms of arthritis everyday in the clinic, if corrective measures and lifestyle modifications are not done properly then knee cartilages wear out faster, said Dr SK Gupta.
