The dancers of the city would get a sturdy platform to showcase their dancing talent. Auditions for the Dancing Icon 2013 – Season 2 are being organised in the city for the budding dancers to polish up their skills and the trained dancers to show their talent.
Notably, the first session of the auditions has already been completed on October 17 and 18. Further, the next session of auditions would be on November 10 at Alayana Academy, Kasturba Nagar in Bhopal. While talking to The Pioneer, organiser of the show Syed Aquil Ali said, “It was started last year to give the dancers a platform where they can show their talent and polish their skills which helps them to prepare for television reality dance shows.”
Elaborating further about the auditions, Aquil said, “Till now we have taken two auditions in which around 700 dancers have already given their auditions. The third and last round of the audition will be on November 10.” The event is divided into two categories. Junior that includes tiny tots of the city from four years to 13 years and second category includes participants above 13 years among the seniors. These participants can give auditions for the solo, group and duet dances.
On asking about the judging part of the show, Aquil said, “To judge the auditions a special jury panel is been made. Jury members are Maina Gulati who is an exponent in Kathak, Hip Hop and Salsa dance, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma who is fitness choreographer, Dr. Deepti Bhargawa from Health Asters, Ankita Jain (limca Book Award winner) and Syed Aquil Ali from Dekho Bhopal.”
Registrations are open for third auditions. Those who want to participate can collect the forms from Alayana Academy or can register directly on the audition day, he further added. He further said that further information is also available on the facebook page of Dekho Bhopal.
