large crowd braves heat, attends Parivartan Yatra

The Parivartan Yatra of the Madhya Pradesh Congress on Saturday drew huge crowds despite scorching heat in the four Assembly constituencies of Rewa, in Vindhya region of the State. Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria and leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh addressed the public meetings held during the Yatra.

The Congress leaders counted the failures of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State and called on the people to bring back Congress to power for putting up the State on the track of development.

Bhuria on suggestion of Ramesh announced in a public meeting that on formation of Congress Government in the State CBI enquiry of the rampart corruption held in the central Government funded schemes during the BJP rule would be held.

The first public meeting of the Parivartan Yatra was held at Simariya followed by public meetings at Sirmor, Tyothar and Hanumana.

Ramesh addressing the public meetings said that the Central Government provided funds liberally to the State Government but the State Government adopted wrong intents in running those schemes and in the result be it the Social Security Scheme or the MNREGA or Mid-day Meal scheme – there benefits could not reach to the beneficiaries and large scale corruption was done in them.

If the funds provided by the Central Government would have been used in right way than there would have been improvement in the lives of poor and downtrodden besides the condition of the state would also have been improved, he added.

He expressed deep concern that the beneficiaries of the social security are not getting pension in every month. Now with direct fund transfer in beneficiary’s account the corruption of the State Government would be stopped, he added.

The people assured the leaders that they would vote for Congress and bring back the party in power during the public meeting at Hanumana.
