An action plan has been chalked out to generate energy from waste in Rewa and Satna Municipal Corporations and Nagar Panchayat. Collected waste will be disposed of scientifically. Organic fertilisers will also be made using waste. Presently, 50 acre barren land has been selected at village Bandha on the outskirts of Rampur Baghelan in Satna district to set up the plant.

On the initiative of Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla, Urban Development and Environment Dept is finalising this cluster-based project. Shukla inspected the project site. He said that this plant will be very useful in making the State self-reliant in energy sector. Waste from Rewa and Satna urban bodies will be brought to the plant at selected land on outskirts of Bandha village. At the plant, energy and organic fertilisers will be produced using waste. Establishment of this plant will also ensure local bodies' success in Swachchhata Mission.

Shukla informed that at present, this project is operating in village Koshta in Rewa district for which only 6.41 hectare land is available. He said that keeping shortage of space there, it has been decided to set up the plant at village Bandha in Satna district under Solid Waste Management Scheme. Necessary formalities regarding the plant would be completed soon. The Minister informed that feasibility reports regarding cluster-based projects for waste management are being chalked out with consultants of MPUIT for waste disposal.
