Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Madhya Pradesh vice-president Vijesh lunawat has alleged that the Congress is choking the Constitution and democracy by stopping the passage of the land Acquisition Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
lunawat in a statement on Friday said, “The amendment bill has been passé in the lok Sabha, now, it is compulsory that Rajya Sabha consider over it. The opposition could also defeat the bill in the Rajya Sabha on the basis of its strength. In these circumstances, the ruling coalition is not left with any other option except for calling a joint session of both the houses to pass the bill. But the Congress intent is to stop the passage of bill through debate in Rajya Sabha to make ruling party lame, but the Congress would not succeed in its designs.”
lunawat further said that the Congress is doing cheap politics on the important issue of land acquisition. The intension of the Englishmen was to keep Indians limited to villagers and backward community. This was the reason that the GDP of the India that was 30 per cent in the world trade before the British rule came down to zero per cent. There is not a slightest of doubt that the land acquisition law formulated during the erstwhile Manmohan Singh Government was basically against the rural development and agriculture development. It was similar to that of colonial rule laws and conspiracy to make farmers progress stagnant. Chief Ministers of 32 States including that of Congress-ruled States said that the law blocked development, he added.
He said that it is matter of concern for the Congress that despite making law in 2013 why it suffered humiliating defeats in lok Sabha and assembly elections. The only reason is that Congress image is become that of a hurdle creating party in way of farmers and villages, he added.
