A meeting of the Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) old boys association was held here on Tuesday night at Hotel Noor-us-Sabah Palace where two achievers - Alok Sanjar and Anees Ahmed - were also felicitated for bringing laurels for the school. Anees Ahmed made the school proud by achieving higher position in the United Nations (UN) while Alok Sanjar conceited by rising in the field of politics.
Ahmed is senior legal adviser to the Special Representative to the Secretary General (SRSG) of UN while Sanjar has risen to become MP from the city. Ahmed addressing his old colleagues on the occasion said that the education, training and atmosphere of the school helped him at every step of his international career. “The teachings of the school came to my rescue every time I faced some difficulty in my career,” he added.
Explaining as how his life changed dramatically after he became parliamentarian, Sanjar said, “There was a time when I could not get my son admitted in the KV as I did not have any source but the time has changed completely and now being an MP, I have a quota of six admissions every year in the KV,” Sanjar said.
He further said that when he was struggling in politics, everyone used to look at him differently but now when he has succeeded everyone tries to get connected. “They try to show as how close they are with me,” he said. KV old boys association president Abdul Tahir and other NRI old students also addressed the meet.
