The students of Mass Communication and Social Welfare Departments of Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication (KTUJM) carried out a ‘No-Polythene Rally’ in their adopted village Datrenga on Wednesday.
The purpose was to spread awareness on ensuring an eco-friendly atmosphere in the village. Raising the slogans of avoiding polythene bags and keeping the village premises clean the BAJMC, MAMC, and M.Phil Mass Communication students accompanied by MSW students and faculty members Rukhsar Parveen reached out to the school students, house wives, senior citizens, Anganwadi workers and shopkeepers urging them to “Say no to polythene”.
Head of both the concerned departments Dr Shahid Ali and KTUJM Vice-Chancellor Dr MS Parmar also joined the rally.
Dr Parmar applauded the efforts undertaken to ensure a 'no polythene environment' and asked the students to ensure more participation of the villagers in their second day of the campaign scheduled on Thursday.
