The little aspiring theatre actors of the city are all set to woo the Bhopal theatre buffs with their acting skills. After learning the theatrical aspects and brushing up their skills in a 45-day workshop, the children will stage two new plays ‘Murgah Ka Biya’ and ‘Udit Bhaskar’ on June 9 and 10 at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium.
The plays will be staged under ‘Children’s Theatre Festival’. The final rehearsals of the plays were held here on Monday. Notably, the children were trained by the renowned theatre artist Prem Gupta, who has been working with kids for years. “To begin with the basics of theatre activities it is important for children to know in what pitch the voice has to be used while acting on stage,” said noted theatre artist Prem Gupta.
Elaborating further he said, “It is also important to be patient and manage all the theatre activities with brilliance and this is what we taught as the vital basic of theatres. Children were also taught to make masks.” He further said, “There are many students aspiring to learn the acting skills and this workshop is basically for them. All the basics would be covered in this workshop keeping in view the major skills.”
The children were taught the basics, moves on the stage, dialogue delivery and most importantly the voice modulation. Both the stories deal with the topics that woo the children and formed their interest in learning rehearsing the plays. Murgah Ka Biya is a simple play with hilarious events. And Udit Bhaskar is a ballet form of presentation. The plays will be staged at 7pm.
