The city is gripped in the festivities of Ganesha Chaturthi as it is just at the door step. The children of the city are not behind in preparing for the festival. As it is known that lord Ganesha is among the favourite gods of children, they are leaving no stone unturned in welcoming their lovable ‘Vinayaka’.
The underprivileged children are making the idols of lord Ganesha with their little hands out of clay to spread the message of eco-friendly Ganesha Chaturthi. The children of Parvarish — The Museum School have joined a two-day workshop wherein they have learnt to create ‘Mitti ke Ganesha’.
The workshop ‘Aao Mitti Ke Ganesha Banayien, Paryavaran Bachaien’ began on Friday. The children enthusiastically participated in the workshop wherein they learnt to create the life-like clay model of Ganesha.
On the first day of the workshop, the participants are taught to prepare lord Ganesha out of clay. Besides, to mark the conclusion of the workshop on Saturday the participants will also decorate their lord Ganesha idol with natural colours and natural accessories. Sharing the contentment of creating Ganesha idol, one of the children of Parvarish Aarti Sharma told The Pioneer, “It was really fascinating that I created my Vinayaka with my hands. The feeling is more than happiness. I will create another idol for my home,” added Aarti. Aarti said that people should install the eco friendly Ganesha idols at their homes to observe the Ganesh Chaturthi this year.
Made up of eco friendly material and coloured with the herbal colours the idol of lord Ganesha should be worshipped at homes.
