To promote its tourism in Madhya Pradesh, the Kerala State Government showcased several events, including mesmerizing art forms of the State, here on Tuesday.

While talking to media persons, Deputy Director of Kerala Tourism Department Nandakumar KP said, "Basically this is a promotional visit to Madhya Pradesh. We want to market the best tourist places of Kerala across the country." Asked about negotiating with Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation, he said, "Right now we have no such plans and usually such ventures do not make a good deal as earlier we had this with Rajasthan Tourism. But on the second thought if ever such venture would be taking place I think this would go with Wildlife Tourism and Heritage Tourism." Elaborating further, he said, "Both the States are rich in wildlife and heritage and I think this would be a great plan in future."

KP further informed about new initiatives that include 'Seaplane Project' aimed towards improving last mile connectivity by air to its destinations across the State. The Muziris Heritage Site (MHS) promotes awareness and understanding of the cultural distinctiveness and diversity of Muziris. More than 25 museums will be there to showcase the Muziris heritage. Further similar projects like wildlife, hill stations, beaches, backwaters engage the possibilities of adventure activities.

Kerala Natventure activities include trekking, camping, rock climbing, jungle, wildlife safaris, bird watching, cycling, kayaking, canoeing and paragliding. Another forward initiative is the launch of the new 'great backwaters' campaign and more. "This way we can manage to promote our tourist destinations across the country," he added.

A cultural programme was organised by Kerala Tourism here on Tuesday at Jehan-Numa Palace. The programme began with showcasing two short documentaries on Kerala that featured beautiful tourist destinations there.

Then the programme took the start with the 500 years old dance form 'Kathakali' by artists from Kerala. The programme was further followed with the dance forms like Theyyam, Mohiniyattam, and martial arts and then the artists from Kerala wonderfully presented the Nav Rasa on stage.

Notably, with the increase of tourist footfalls in Kerala, the Government of Kerala has rolled out various new tourist initiatives, in order to enhance the travel experience and add to its array of attractions.
