Alleging irregularities in the examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC), the leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Satyadev Katare on Tuesday alleged that the daughter of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's sister got selected overlooking rules and regulations.

Raising the issue here at a press conference, Katare demanded the resignation of Chouhan.

While talking to media persons, Katare said, "Several irregularities were found in the examination held by the MPPSC. Therefore, I demand the resignation of Chouhan, as he alone is responsible for it."

The Congress leader also demanded that an SIT be set up under the directives of the Supreme Court to probe all the irregularities in the MPPSC exam.

Katare informed that Shivraj's bhanji (sister's daughter) Ritu Chouhan was selected as deputy collector and at present posted as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Bhopal. He further alleged that the records related to the recruitment of Ritu Chouhan in the year 2008 were destroyed by the Commission within one year, while as per rules, it should be destroyed in 20 years.

He alleged that the scam in the MPPSC recruitment is bigger than that of MPPEB examination scam. Chouhan not only benefited his relatives by misusing his post, but also changed the rules of the Commission.

Despite having demanded documents related to the recruitment of Ritu Chouhan for past few days, the General Administration Department (GAD) that is parental department of the Commission, failed to provide the details.

There are several irregularities prevalent in the Commission, Katare alleged that more than 70 questions are being included from one book in the examination, while, as per rules only four questions should be taken from one book. The whole cheating is being committed to benefit coaching centres. Besides, there are also anomalies in the marking process, he alleged.
