The Congress that is trying hard to corner Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam has got one more issue in number of deaths of scam accused.leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Satyadev Katare after announcing one member enquiry committee to ascertain the real cause of deaths on Wednesday took the issue further by writing a letter to chief minister Chouhan.

Katare in his letter to the chief minister said, “About 44 accused in the MPPEB scam have died so far, the SIT monitoring the investigations done by STF has reported death of 42 accused some time back. But the number of deaths reported by the State Government is lower than this figure while the state level BJP leaders are saying that only 14 deaths have been reported in the biggest educational and recruitment scam of the country. This is unfortunate and condemnable.”

Katare further said that lakhs of students take part every year in the examinations conducted by the MPPEB.The students appearing in the medical entrance and the recruitment test for different jobs conducted by the MPPEB, with a belief that their selection would be fair and impartial. But the scams exposed last days in almost every examination conducted by MPPEB and the irregularities appeared in the selection process in government jobs has shattered the hopes of the students and their parents. They have undergone mental torture due to that many students and their parents died of tension.

Those died of this mental torture is not recorded anywhere; hence it is the responsibility of the state government to keep record of those students and parents also who died in tension of not getting selected or admitted in course of their choice, but the state government is not providing any information over this type of deaths, he added. He requested the CM to collect information of such deaths and enquiry of the reason for these deaths along with the 44 deaths reported so far should be made so that the people of the state could know the real number of deaths.
