leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare charged the Speaker with conniving with the Government on the issue of breah of privilege moved by the Congress and announced that in the next session, the Congress will bring a no-confidence motion against the Speaker.
Katare said that the Chair did not allow Rawat to make a submission after rejecting his breach of privilege motion. He said that it has happened for the first time in the parliamentary history that the Appropriation Bill was tabled on the same day and passed that very day itself without any discussion.
Normally, it is passed by the House next day. However, justifying the decision to adjourn the House sine die, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that during the entire session the Congress had no other issue with it except the MPPEB scam and was not interested in raising the issues concerning women and farmers, among others.
Though Chouhan had accepted the Congress' demand for a discussion on MPPEB scam right on the first day itself, Congress members did not listen to his reply and walked out of the House. “The Congress is not interested in discussion but only political stunts,” Mishra remarked.
