Before the storm over his controversial statement of keeping ECI and MCC on tip of his shoes could settle, Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on ednesday created another controversy by questioning the impartiality of the ECI.
“The ECI should not adopt double standards and should work impartially,” said Vijayvargiya. The senior minister of the state cabinet though blinked on his earlier statement and said that his intents were not like that what has been publicised. Vijayvargiya was summoned by the BJP State president Narendra Singh Tomar and organisational general secretary Arvind Menon on Wednesday at party’s state headquarters. Both the senior leaders of the party advised him not to create such controversy that could put the party on the defensive.
Both the leaders also asked other leaders too not to create any controversy before assembly elections. Vijayvargiya reportedly clarified his stand over the controversial statement to both the senior leaders of the party. After coming out of the meeting with the senior party leaders the minister told the media that he never meant what was publicised and wrecked up another controversy by saying that on the one hand Prime Minister and Congress president attends Dussehra programme in New Delhi and the Chief Minister is stopped from participating in similar programme this double standard should not exit and the ECI should work impartially.
There had also been talks in the political circles that the statements of Vijayvargiya were deliberate that he did not want to contest assembly polls from Mhow constituency that he represents. He probably wants his son to field from there.
