A Hindi play ‘Kahani Subhash Ki’ based on the life of Subhash Chandra Bose will be staged at Shaheed Bhavan on Tuesday. The play will be presented to observe the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose.
Organised by Directorate of Swaraj Sansthan, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the play is being presented under its regular series ‘Deshraag’. The play is directed by Vaishali Gupta and will be performed by the artists of Arghya Kala Samiti, Bhopal. The final rehersals of the play were completed on Monday.
Born in a prominent Bengali family, Subhash had dedicated much of his younger years by being actively involved in ridding the British from India. For this purpose he joined hands with stalwarts such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohandas Gandhi, but expressed his frustration, especially with Gandhi's slow and painstaking way of trying to win over the enemy with love.
It is for this reason, he decided to separate from the Congress Party. The British became weary of him, placed him under arrest, but when he started a hunger strike unto death, they let him go, but kept him under surveillance. After that many incidents and event took place in Bose’s life.
Various such incidents will be staged at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium at 7 pm in the play ‘Kahani Subhash Ki’. According to the director Vaishali Gupta, “Subhash Chandra Bose is an inspirational figure for every Indian. His struggle for India’s independence can never be forgotten.” She further said that the play is scripted in a way that no important event is missed out and can be presented maintaining the realism.
