Just 9 days left for BU to declare final results!

Barkatullah University (BU) administration has Herculean task to perform by declaring results of around one lakh students of final sixth semester in just nine days.

The Department of Higher Education (DHE) has asked all the universities of the State to declare final semester results of all the undergraduate and postgraduate courses by June 20 in which BU is lagging behind all the universities in organising the semester examination and declaring results.

BU has declared results of only BCA sixth semester while the results of major courses BCom, BSc and BA are still awaited. More than lakh students are writing the final semester papers of the university in all the major courses, while the last paper of BA and BSc are scheduled on June 18 also, two days before the deadline.

Meanwhile, BU administration is not in mood of withholding the results of large number of students and declaring results of a fraction of students only. Many universities had adopted this measure when they were meant to declare results in time constraint. Universities on scheduled date used to upload the results of students on universities’ websites and notice-boards but result of around 45 per cent students were declared withheld. Slowly universities used to prepare the results of such students and used to declare them in next few weeks.

This method provided an escape from overburden of work and missing the deadline both.

BU confidential department Deputy Registrar VK Singh told The Pioneer that two years back university withheld results of 700 BA final semester students out of the over 10000 students but it took around a year to declare the withheld results due to several problems occurred that is why university administration had decided not to withheld the results.

Singh said that results of BCom has been prepared and will be declared within this week and preparations are being made to compel BSc and BA results within the time frame.

Though BU administration claims that the results will be declared on time but it failed to clarify measures taken for it.
