Local law enforcement authorities today conducted a raid at the premises of M/s Soni Brothers- a steel retail outlet in Indore. It was found that the local retailer was selling counterfeit, sub-standard quality, colour-coated steel under the brand name JSW Colouron+ (a registered trademark belonging to JSW Steel). JSW Steel is the flagship company of diversified Indian conglomerate, JSW Group.
The development marks another step in JSW Steel's fight against counterfeiting of steel products under its brand and more importantly safeguarding the interests of customers.
The raid was conducted by officials of Kotwali Police Station. Officials seized and sealed counterfeit steel sheets from the retailer during this raid. The counterfeit products sold by the retailer were causing losses and damage to JSW's long-established trademark reputation, goodwill and trust among customers.
