The play Joota is a hilarious comedy of an infantile king who, disturbed by the dust stuck onto his feet.
The king, feeling awful with the dust in his kingdom was looking for measures to get rid of it. In a court meeting, he orders his ministers and courtiers to find out a method to keep his feet free of dust within three days. The good-for -nothing ministers and advisers gathered from all over the world come up with bizarre and comic ideas one after the other.
Somewhere the ministers asked the people not to sweep their houses and shops as the dust will blow along with the wind or somewhere they tried all measures to stop the dust entering into the palace. After looking all the rubbish measures taken by the so called ‘intelligent’ ministers of the king’s court, an ordinary man one day thought of a measure. After working long hours, the man prepared shoes for the king and presented it to him in front of the courtiers and ministers ultimately coming up to king’s rescue.
Some moments of the play left the audiences in the whirls of laughter and some moments were a satirical statement over the society and the measures it takes to solve the problems. Situational comedy was created in the play that made the audience burst out laughing. It was a creative attempt by the aspiring actors.
