Jogi demands CBI probe into 'irregularities' reported by CAG

The BJP Government has made the State hollow by looting and economically exploiting through rampant corruptions, said former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi here on Monday.

Reacting on the CAG report submitted in the State Assembly recently, which had revealed irregularities worth Rs1844 crore in the State, Jogi demanded from the State Government to order a CBI inquiry into the corruption issue, as per the figures revealed in the CAG report.

In a Press statement issued here on Monday, the former Chief Minister alleged that the BJP Government, by colluding with the industrialists of other States, has given them licence to loot the State and by taking benefit of the power doing financial corruption. The State Government, against the rules and regulations, has allotted the excavation work of mineral resources of the State to these industries, he added.

He said the Government by showing A-grade coal as F-grade, had brought Rs295 crore lose to the State exchequer on account of royalty and had given illegal benefits to the BJP-supporter industrialists.

He alleged that the BJP was supporting and protecting the industries that engaged in illegal mining and the party leaders also involved in illegal mining. All these works were being done knowing and for encouraging corruption, he added.

He said, the political leaders and Government officers were involved in looting the mineral resources, though, in comparison to other States, Chhattisgarh is in the forefront as far as mineral resources is concerned.
