JlU Centre for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility was officially launched at a Roundtable on Excellence in CSR at Jagran lakecity University in Bhopal.

The Roundtable, organised under the aegis of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, was attended by a large number Government leaders, policy makers, corporate Heads, academicians, faculty, practitioners, researchers and NGOs based in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General and CEO, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Government of India said “This indeed is a red letter day as a University has collaborated with IICA in not only offering training programmes in CSR but also in building the research, content and consulting in CSR through a Centre of Excellence in CSR.” Speaking to a large audience, Chatterjee further elaborated about the spirit and directions underlining the CSR regulation and practice in India.

A multi-disciplinary executive committee has been established at JlU, ensuring that a broad spectrum of perspectives are included and pave the way for the Centre's development.

A great deal of strategic development work will be carried out in the coming year to position the JlU Centre for Excellence in CSR as the premier resource on CSR for India and global.

Over time, the expectation is that the centre will enable greater understanding of effective partnering, relationships and tools available to the Government, Corporates, NGOs and academia alike in reference to CSR and sustainability through this centre.
