There are reports of gross violation of rules and regulations in awarding the contract for security agency in the Jiwaji University. It looks like that Rector Prof RJ Rai has gone out of the way to award the contract to Bombay Security Agencies.
Despite the fact that there are serious allegations against this agency, it was allotted the contract. Prof Rai awarded the contract to this agency without getting any sanction from the Executive Council. Members of the EC are disappointed with this decision of the Rector and have warned that they will raise this issue in the next sitting of the Executive Council.
According to sources in the Jiwaji varsity, the Bombay Security Agency had failed to submit the three year records of EPF and EMI. It is totally illegal to award the contract without completing all the requisite formalities.
Some members have alleged that awarding contact without the relevant documents is a serious violation of rules.
The Bombay Security Agency terminated the services of many current guards and has appointed new guards after taking payment of `30,000 from each. Executive Council member of the University Gayatri Mandelia said that she had pointed out the irregularities in the award of the contract.
