Jiwaji Registrar told to take up Helpline complaints

Scores of complaints of the students from Jiwaji University are pending for a long time with the CM Helpline. No action has been taken on these complains, jeopardizing higher education and careers of the students.

Some complaints had been made to the Samadhan Online, and even here the students are yet to get any relief. In this regard the collector too had sent a strong communication to the University.

Peeved at the events, Prof Sangeeta Shukla, Vice- Chancellor of the University gave written instructions to Prof Anand Mishra, the Registrar to personally look into the matter. She asked him to verify how many problems have been resolved in camps by officials of l 1 to l 3 category and notify her every day before 4.30 in the evening.

This will facilitate in informing the Principal Secretary, Higher Education about the current status of the complaints. The written communiqué by the VC to the Registrar also mentions the fact that this matter had been brought to the notice of the concerned officials many times in the past.

Even the Chief Minister had expressed displeasure at the pending complaints of the students. She also mentioned in the letter that students’ careers are at risk due to this, and warned that no more laxity in this matter will be tolerated.

As soon as the Registrar got the communiqué from the Vice- Chancellor he convened an emergency meeting of Assistant Registrars and other officials and apprised them of the gravity of the situation.

He asked them to immediately get to work and give a progress report by 4 pm.

In this connection, Arun Chouhan, the Deputy Registrar of JU was suspended earlier by the Chief Secretary on instructions from the Chief Minister. After two months of suspension he is now back in the University.
