A jilted lover uploaded a girl’s photographs on a social networking site after he failed to persuade the 26-year-old to marry him. According to the police, the girl hailing from Jabalpur, who got married to a city-based youth on June 3, was harassed by her friend who was obsessed with her and wanted her to marry him. In an attempt to pressurise the victim to marry him, the accused threatened to commit suicide if her family decided to marry her off to someone else. After the victim got married on June 3 with a city-based youth who lives in Govindpura area the accused got dejected and started harassing her. He sent 200 messages and made several phone calls to the victim. Depressed over the harassment victim reported the incident to her husband and later lodged a complaint with the Govindpura police.
In the complaint victim claimed that the accused Rishabh Namdev has posted around half a dozen obscene photographs of her on social networking site and have mailed the same to her. The accused initially messaged her and called her several times but when he didn’t get any response he posted obscene photographs on Facebook.
The accused lived in the same city as the victim and both completed MBA from the same college but after the victim’s marriage accused went errant and harassed her on the day of her marriage. The two developed friendship after meeting on facebook but later the victim’s marriage was arranged in the city. The police have registered a case under section 292 of the IPC and sections of IT act. A police team has been dispatched to Jabalpur to nab the accused.
