Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice-President Prabhat Jha on Friday fired a volley of allegations of corruption at leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh.
Interacting with the media at BJP office here, Jha said that Ajay Singh had used the position of his late father and former chief minister Arjun Singh to buy industrial land worth crores of rupees at Govindpura Industrial Area in the State capital against the rules. He also alleged that the opposition leader has violated section 9A of the Representation of People Act by entering into business deal with State Electricity Board for supply of transformers worth Rs 59 crore.
Jha alleged that the land in Govindpura was allocated to the company of Ajay Singh named Consolidated Electricals ltd. However, the company’s name was later changed to ETC Industries ltd and the land was registered in its name without observing proper rules in this regards and Singh also started construction on the plot without any permission under Urban land Ceiling Act. It was later given permission under influence of his father.
Jha informed that ETC company is engaged in transformer supply and when objections were raised on this, its holding company M/s Central India Hightech Printer Pvt ltd was formed.
