General Secretary of Janata Dal(U) Akhilesh Katiyar has said his party did not demand any berth in the Union Cabinet in the recently held Cabinet expansion.
While talking to mediapersons on Saturday, Katiyar added there was no discussion on this front within the party and even at the Centre, the stakes of the JD(U) were not considered.
Katiyar said his party will contest Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh by highlighting its achievements in Bihar.
He was talking to mediapersons at the programme of Central Press Club. He added it will be too early to speak out anything regarding JD(U) alliance with the BJP in the next Assembly elections here.
“The decision will be taken later on the basis of prevailing situations,” he added.
Katiyar stated that it was only Sharad Yadav who left the party. To a query, he said, “We cannot consider debarring him from the party. In the present scenario, only he has to take decision as how he wants to severe ties.”
Regarding decision of the JD(U) not to join NDA before Bihar Assembly elections and now, having ties with the NDA, Katiyar stated that the decisions of the party on both the situations were right keeping in view the prevailing political scinarios.
