The Jawahar lal Nehru Agriculture University will organise its 14th convocation day on April 12. Governor of Madhya Pradesh Ananadiben Patel will be invited as the chief guest on the occasion. Anandiben Patel will felicitate the meritorious students with gold medals on the occasion.
The preparations for the event are being carried out with enthusiasm. A formal meeting for the same was held on Tuesday.
Vice Chancellor of the university Pradeep Kumar Bisen instructed the scientists, officials and staff members to take up their responsibilities and complete the pending work as soon as possible.
It is to be noted that for the convocation ceremony, 15 grand committees of 145 senior members have been formed.
The committees have already begun their work. Registrar Ashok Kumar Ingle, Dean on Agriculture Faculty PK Mishra, Director of Research Services and Education Dhirendra Khare and other officials were present during the meeting.
Interestingly, the convocation ceremony will be a different one. The students will be dresses up in Indian traditional attires rather than the gowns and caps. The dress code which is fixed up for the event is white suits for the girls and white kurta payjama for the boys.
The boys have to adorn their attire with turbans, jackets and scarves to give it an Indian look.
Even the staff members and faculty members have been allotted with dress code and colour combinations according to their designations. Such as Vice Chancellor, chief guests, deans and directors will wear white jacket with golden sachet, members of management committee will wear cream jacket and maroon sachet and so on. Online registrations have been made for the students on country and abroad.
Besides, Ingle informed that as many as 248 graduates of batches 2013-14, 2015-16 and PHD holders of batch 2014-15 will be felicitated with cash prize and awards. The prizes include 10 gold medalists and cash prize winners.
