Jawahar Chowk traders protest demanding permanent shops

Published on:

Angered for not keeping the promises by Smart City in Bhopal, Adarsh Jawahar Chowk Traders Association kept the shops closed on Tuesday and staged a protest.

Traders said that even after four years the Smart City officials did not provide them with shops and that today they have protested against this.

Rakesh Gupta, President of Adarsh Jawahar Chowk Traders Association, said that the officials of the Smart City Company had promised us to build shops on plot number 47-49. A decision on this has been taken by the board and now the officers are reluctant. We have also given Rs 25000 in lieu of shops. Now the officers are saying to go to 'haat' market.

Even after four years, this issue has not been resolved. Now traders are worried and their income is also continuously decreasing. That is why this demonstration was held on Tuesday. Shops in the market remained closed and  continuous   protests would be registered .

If the issue is not resolved then we will protest outside the secretariat.

The traders protesting at Jawahar Chowk said that if the shop issue is not resolved, they will stage a protest outside the  secretariat  . A large number of traders were present during the demonstration.
