Present on the occasion Upendra Mohan Sharma, Blood Bank Incharge, Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal said “In the year 2001 the amount of donated blood collection was about 60 thousand units which have now reached the level of 2.5 lakh units per year. We all know about the scarcity of blood, and when it comes to blood then we talk about safe blood which is free from diseases like AIDS, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Malaria etc.”

Scientifically it is believed that the blood donated willingly is comparatively safe and it is considered that it does not carries the above mentioned diseases, that is why we promote blood donation.
