At Janata Durbar, Home and Jail Minister Babulal Gaur gave a patient hearing to people’s problems and directed officers to solve them. Mayor Krishna Gaur, Collector Nishant Warwade, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Vishesh Garhpale, SP Shashikant Shukla and senior officers of other departments were present on the occasion.

Regarding the case of lease renewal of shops of Bhagat Singh Market in Indrapuri, Gaur said that businessmen and local people are of the opinion that there is no need to dismantle them. The shops are totally safe and strong. The businessmen are ready to pay enhanced property tax with interest.

On this, BDA officers said that they would cancel the proposal to dismantle the shops on receipt of payment of enhanced property tax with interest. Property tax payable to BDA on these shops constructed several years ago has doubled as compared to rent payable to BDA. Municipal corporation is demanding property tax from BDA and the BDA is unable to pay property tax from the amount of rent received by it. This problem was solved at Janata Durbar today on the spot.

Gaur directed officers of Capital Project Administration to complete constructions from Bag Sewaniya police station upto statue of Raja Bhoj within time-limit. He directed to start process of construction following completion of survey for new road from Rishi Estate to Mahatma Gandhi Marg via St Xaviour. He directed for early completion of survey for constructon of road from DRM office to Ratnagiri petrol pump via Tulsi complex Sukh Sagar.

Gaur directed for early completion of culvert construction in Saket Nagar E Sector and road from Ashima Mall towards Central School number 3.

BHEl will make available adequate space for development of JK Road trisection. In view of heavy traffic on this trisection, the municipal corporation will chalk out a plan to expand its road within a month. The district administration will arrange Rs 16 lakh for development, lights etc. at Chetak Bridge crossing in Kasturba Nagar and ensure action with BHEl administration at the earliest.

The collector said that this proposal should be prepared today itself and work started. Gaur directed BHEl officers to grant permission for upgradation of BHEl Township market shops to double storey. All roads in the township including ward 58 should be asphalted and Sulabh Shauchalya constructed in BHEl’s 40 and 60 slum areas.

Gaur asked BHEl administration to find out solution to complaints regarding non-supply of power and 8 to 10 power cuts in BHEl slum areas. He wanted the BHEl administration to explain as to why power is cut for 8 to 10 hours. When BHEl administration officers said that electricity cables in the areas should be laid by MPEB, the concerning officers said that this is in BHEl jurisdiction and therefore, works here are done only by BHEl. The BHEl officers said that single-point electricity connections will be provided to ensure round-the-clock power supply in Ekta Nagar, Adarsh Nagar and other slums in BHEl area. On this, residents of the area said that they should be given single-point connections with meters. Gaur directed BHEl administration officers to beautify Sarangpaani lake.

On being apprised by people and businessmen about development works, Gaur assured to visit the area on June 24 to inspect the works. Problems pertaining to Railway and Madhya Pradesh Housing Board of residents of Chhatrapati Nagar, BHEl Jubilee Gate and Amrai Basti were also solved on the occasion. Gaur directed to examine and declare as dilapidated houses in Govindpura police line so that they can be re-constructed. TR Mishra, Arya Gupta, Kewal Mishra, Raghunandan Singh Rajput, GR Nagar and other local people also put forth their views regarding development works in the area before Gaur.
