Its Bhuria vs Bhuria in Jhabhua-Ratlam

Former Union Minister and tribal bigwig Kantilal Bhuria, who is the Congress nominee and outgoing parliamentarian from Jhabua Ratlam bordering Gujarat, is confronting a formidable challenge from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Dileep Singh Bhuria.

Five Assembly segments of Jhabua and Alirajpur districts, besides three of Ratlam District, are within the constituency’s limits. K Bhuria seems surrounded as saffron party candidates emerged victorious with flying colours in these constituencies in last year's Vidhan Sabha polls.

Since the Assembly election outcome K Bhuria is moving about in his constituency and leaving no stone unturned vis-a-vis interaction with denizens. At the time of the Vidhan Sabha polls, he possessed the mantle of Congress State President.

BJP leaders claim that the 'Modi wave' would in all likelihood benefit the party. An approximately 17 lakh-strong electorate is expected to exercise its franchise on April 24. Unlike in the Assembly elections K Bhuria, a star campaigner of Congress and former state Congress president would be confined to his constituency only.

Bhuria, who presided over the defeat of all eight candidates in his constituency of Ratlam will not be available for other constituencies. According to local reports the Congress has asked young party workers from different states to manage booths at the micro level on the booths where the margin of victory or defeat was less very thin.

The Youth Congress workers from the state would assist the team monitored by central observers. Meanwhile, K Bhuria has claimed that he would retain the seat with huge margin.
