Besides, these Itr bottles have jaw dropping costs as well. The cheapest one starts from Rs 100 and the highest cost of the Itr goes up to Rs 30,000. But, it is a no bar for the Bhopalites, they are more enthusiastic about buying the best of the brands.
Interestingly, as much as the Bhopalites are fond of food, they also like the fragrances. The market of Bhopal is adorned with the different varieties of fragrances straight from Saudi Arabia and Sharjah. These Itr bottles are the rarest of all and are being loved by the Bhopalites.

Altamash Jalal, owner of Khushboo Itr shop says, “Itr has a history of 4000 years old. When there were no perfumes, Itr was the only fragrance use. It is prepared especially in special vessels.” Elaborating further, he said, “It takes a great time and effort to prepare Itr.” Altamash further informed that the Itr at his shop directly comes from the factory in Kannauj. Besides he shared that perfume fragrances fade away quickly but the fragrance of Itr is long lasting.
On the other hand, Mohammad Nauman who has a huge shop Haramain Collection located at Ibrahimpura says, “Jannat-ul-Firdaus is now an old story now. People nowadays love elegant perfumes and they should be long lasting.” Brands like Ajmal, Swiss Arabian, Ansar are much in demand, he added.
Nauman also said that Swassi from Makkah is also capturing the attention of the Bhopalites.
