Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that with the aim of bringing positive changes in the lives of the people of the state, Policy Commission should prepare short-term plans to be completed, set policies, ensure their effective implementation and bring out the results at the earliest. For this purpose, some programmes and schemes of top priority should be fixed and their goals should be set. The impact of the works should be reflected in the next two years - I want results.
Chouhan was presiding over the third meeting of the Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission held at Mantralaya. Vice Chairman, Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Finance and Planning, Economic and Statistics Minister Shri Jagdish Deora, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other officers were present.
The Chief Minister said that the action plan, strategy and time-frame of the departments should be clearly presented for achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). With the implementation of effective programmes in the direction of IMR, MMR, malnutrition, stunting along with co-operative movement, water management, crop diversification, women policy, sustainable tourism and fish export, positive results can be seen in the socio-economic condition of the people. Therefore, special attention should be given to them. Responsibility and time-limit should be fixed for implementation of activities from state level to public representatives, Deendayal Antyodaya Samiti, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and their review should be done on a monthly basis.
Chouhan said that the responsibility of each aspirational development block of the state should be entrusted to one officer. This will help in achieving the target within the time limit. Discussion is also necessary regarding third party evaluation of activities related to welfare schemes and infrastructure development in the state.
Chouhan said that State Planning Commission will also have to consider how Madhya Pradesh can contribute more and more in taking the country forward. It has to be determined how much we can contribute to the country's five trillion economy and at the national level in solar energy. Only this way of thinking and working will enable a double engine government to function effectively. It is necessary to connect the Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission with the general public. Chief Minister Chouhan said that we have to ensure that public money is not misused. In policy formulation, it is necessary to consult all the groups related to the feedback, programmes and schemes of the beneficiaries. Chief Minister Chouhan said that monthly review of various activities should be ensured.
