To benefit the pensioners, Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has on Tuesday asked the State Government to issue clear directives in favour of pensioners.
Commission has recommended that Rs 15,000 should be provided to the pensioner’s wife during the hearing of a case in which the government has not provided the arrears and the increased pension of 17 years to the pensioner’s family.
Notably, government Post Graduation College, Shahdol’s retired Principal MA Khan’s wife Jamila Begum had submitted an application on 26 August, 2013 to the commission that her husband was expired on 12 March, 1998. The salary of her husband was not determined according to Madhya Pradesh pay revision rule, 1996, hence the family pension could not be revised.
While taking cognizance of the case, Commission has recommended that clear instructions are already been made regarding this. Proper instructions should be released so that no employee or officer could be stressed after losing the service book. Notably, the employees and the officers face various difficulties in getting the pension after losing their service books.
Commission recommended that it should be checked that how many cases of the employees or officers in the state are pending after losing their service books. Immediate action should be taken in these cases. The government should release the orders within six months regarding the distribution of revised pay and arrears to the employees and the pensioners after the approval of new pay scale.
Commission has informed the Higher Education Department regarding the case hence the department has provided the amount of Rs 15,000 to the applicant Jamila Begum and has also submitted the receipt to the Commission.
