In his petition, Singh said notwithstanding his late son tried to stop Manoj Gurjar from advancing his tractor- trolley; the accused did not stop and rolled down tractor-trolley over him.

Taking a cognizance of the petition, the High Court has served notices to the parties concerned  The accused driver Manoj Gurjar had been sentenced to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment by the special CBI court in February last year in connection with the murder of slain IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh. Gurjar had been charged under Section 304 (culpable homicide) and Section 353 (use of criminal force to prevent a government official from discharging his duties) of the IPC and Section 181 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
