Under the joint aegis of the School of Wildlife and Forensic Health at Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University (NDVSU), the Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh, and the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, the 15th Annual Conference of the Association of Indian Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (AIZWV) and an International Conference will be held from April 24 to 26, 2025.
While talking to mediapersons, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mandeep Sharma, shared details with members of the press. He informed that the theme of this year’s conference is "Balancing Human Needs and Wildlife Conservation through Integrated Health Management."
The Chief Guest for the event will be Shri Umesh Sharma, President of the Veterinary Council of India. Distinguished guests include Mr. Aseem Srivastava, IFS, Head of Forest Force and Chief Conservator of Forests, Madhya Pradesh, and Mr. Shubhranjan Singh, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Madhya Pradesh.
The conference is expected to witness participation from 350–400 delegates, including 10 foreign delegates and 5 international students.
This three-day event will feature scientific sessions across 12 thematic areas, including 8 oral presentations and 4 poster sessions. Topics will cover Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, One Health, Wildlife Forensics, Human-Wildlife Conflict, and other technical domains. A special session for women participants is also scheduled.
In recognition of significant contributions, two Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented, along with various awards across technical sessions for outstanding participants.
