To maintain cleanliness at the police stations, the Home department has decided to provide inkless stamp pads that are used for the taking fingerprints of the accused. The inkless stamp pads contain such ink that would give proper fingerprints but the hands do not become blue. The thumb impression of the accused or the complainant is compulsory while making Panchnama, FIR statements etc.
The police take the fingerprints of miscreants who commit theft, loot dacoity and murder etc. To update the record so far the inkpad kept the dark blue colour which makes the hands of complainant and accused dirty and the walls of police station had the impression of blue ink figures. Moreover the fingerprints did not give proper impression, but the ink in this inkless pad of new technique would be of black colour but after giving the fingerprint impression and thumb impression could be cleaned with the hand. The ink would dry up in coming in contact with the paper.
The figure print and thumb impression would be proper with this ink. The price of inkless pad would be about 2,000 to 2600. One inkpad can be used for taking 12000 prints. There can be no refilling of this inkpad. The ink used in the inkpad is not harmful to any part of the body. The walls of registration office would not be made dirty by wiping of figures against these walls. Apart from registration the inkpad was used for notary.
