Injustice done by Cong being corrected, a teachers' cadre will be created: Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that today is a historic day for Madhya Pradesh. The Cabinet in a decision taken on Tuesday has ended the injustice done to the future generation of Madhya Pradesh by the Congress government which had declared teacher cadre as ‘dying’.

At that time the teacher cadre was declared a dying cadre and in its place Guruji and Shikshakarmis were created. This had wrecked the education system in the whole state. Chouhan was holding a decision with the media today.

The Chief Minister said that this was not just injustice done to the teachers but it was the biggest crime done with the children's future. The present state government first abolished the worker culture and made the shikshaks ‘teachers’. Under this arrangement, they were employees of either urban bodies or in some district.

Now, this decision has been taken in the Cabinet that the teachers will now be merged in the Education Department and their cadre will be created. Now, there is only cadre of teachers and they are state government employees. Earlier when there was no cadre they were deprived of many facilities. Now being a regular employee of the state government, they will get all the amenities and honour. We believe that after this decision, the system of education will be improved in the state and their quality will be enhanced, he added.

The Chief Minister said that another decision has been taken that no contract employee will now be removed.

The recruitment will now fill the posts of contractual staff upto a certain percentage. Until all the contract employees are not recruited, no one will be removed. Now the risk of their expulsion from the job has ended.

They will also get facilities like other employees. He said that the work done by the state government for the welfare of farmers has never been done before.
