Minister of State for Cooperative (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang said all the necessary information related to insurance should be given in the crop insurance receipt being given to the farmers. Also physical verification should be conducted after the sowing to avoid inconvenience to the farmers while claiming insurance. Sarang was addressing the Advisory Committee Meeting of Cooperative department today. Member of the Committee and MlAs Anil Jain, Kunwar Singh Tekam, Nilesh Awasthi and Sachin Subhashchandra Yadav were present in the meeting.
Sarang mentioned that a wide publicity should be conducted about crop insurance. Display boards should be installed at all the District Cooperative Banks and PACS for publicity. Also it should be mentioned clearly in the receipt that which crop has been insured and what is the procedure for claim. He further said that physical verification is necessary after the sowing to avoid inconvenience to the farmers at the time of claim. Moreover, insurance premium amount should not be deducted from the share capital of the farmers. Sarang directed the officers to inform the local public representatives about the arrangements of fertiliser.
The Minister has informed that recruitment process is being initiated to employ trained staff in all the district cooperative banks shortly. The recruitment will be done by Indian Banking Personnel Selection Board. Around 2300 people will be recruited. This will facilitate our cooperative banks to compete with the commercial banks. Also, this recruitment will enable cooperatives banks to provide better services and will bring transparency in the work. He urged the committee members to give him suggestions constantly about crop insurance, cooperative banks, PACS and sale of seeds and fertilizers and other related issues for immediate action at the department level.
MlAs gave suggestions in the meeting, on which Sarang directed the officials for immediate action.
Principal Secretary Cooperative Ajit Kesri, Commissioner Cooperative Kavindra Kiyawat, Managing Director MARKFED BK Sharma and Managing Director APEX Bank Pradeep Neekhra were present.
