Indore police is trying its level best to give the security to the locals and especially to the women and in this regard a special patrolling jeep women PCR Van is round the clock moving in the city and checking the eve teasing and crime against women at the heavy crowd points. The five policewomen is always present in the PCR. Van including the driver equipped with the transmitter set and guns and police women in civil dress also. In Indore 5 nodal points is declared where there is heavy rush of youngsters and college going students. They are Meghdoot Garden, Regional Park, Zoo, Traffic Park and 56 shops.
The police constable Savita Jain and Seema told The Pioneer that a force of 5 women constables are always present in the women PCR. Van and the duty of each women constables changes after every 8 hours. The women PCR project was started by government of Madhya Pradesh under the Nirbhaya project from April 2012 and in all the 51 district of Madhya Pradesh has been provided women PCR Van. The common problems which are overcome by the women PCR Van is eve teasing, atrocities on women by the family members, also check women involved in liquor selling and prostitutions.
DIG Indore Santosh Singh said that Indore police is fully prepared round the clock to check any time of crime against the citizens and crimes against women and senior citizens. A strict order has been passed to all the SPs , Addl SPs, SDOPs and TIs to carry on day and night patrolling and check post is installed at all the police station area of Indore range for checking the crimes.
