In an important breakthrough, Indore police today cracked a double murder case that rocked the city about a week back. Achieving breakthrough in the case, city police have arrested two youths. According to police, the main accused Manoj alias Bablu Choudhary, son of Bharat lal Choudhary, a resident of Veena Nagar Sukhliya along with his accomplice Dharmendra Rajput, son of Shivnarayan Rajput, a resident of Barwa Khurram, district Rajgarh had committed crime out of greed to loot cash and valuables.
The murder case had rocked the city on November 6 when bodies of two aged couple Shrichand Mittal (74) and his wife Shanti Devi (70) were recovered from his flat no. 205 at Oram apartment in posh Apollo DB City in the fastest growing Nipaniya locality of the city. Bodies of both the deceased were found lying in a room with body of Mittal lying on the bed, while his wife's body was found on the floor with her throat slit open with a knife.
The aged couple's daughter who was living in a nearby building, had told the police that her father only two days back had employed a care taker. DIG Santosh Kumar Singh said the main accused Manoj had earlier worked as a care taker at the flat of the deceased. During the course of his stay there, he had apparently gauged the financial condition of the aged couple but he left his job only after working there for three days vis-a-vas on August 6, 7 and 8 this year.
Meanwhile, the main accused came in contact with his friend Dharmedra, son of Shivnarayan Rajput, with whom he had stayed together at Shajapur. On being interrogated by the police, the accused Manoj told police that he had conspired to rob Mittal couple with his friend Dharmendra at a liquor shop in Pardeshipura locality sometime back.
Police said that both the accused had come to the residence of Mittal couple in Apollo DB City on November 4 this month with an intention of loot. The duo stayed there for sometime but left the flat after arrival of someone. The main accused Manoj again arrived at the residence of Mittal on November 5 but this time he was alone. He first bathed Shrichand Mittal who was suffering from paralysis. Thereafter, he helped him wear cloth and lay on the bed. In the meantime, when Mittal's wife went to bathroom, he stabbed Mittal on his chest and stomach with a knife repeatedly till he died. leaving him dead, the accused went to another room of the flat to commit theft. He opened an almirah with an intention to loot cash and valuables. In the meantime, hearing some noise, Mittal's aged wife came out of her bathroom but she too was attacked by the accused.
