'Indore incident no less than Petlawad '

The opposition Congress  in Madhya Pradesh equated Indore cracker shop blast  held on Tuesday with that of  Petlawad and demanded criminal case against the negligent officers besides compensation of Rs  10 lakh each for the dead in the blast.

State Congress president Arun Yadav in a statement here on Wednesday said, “The incidence of Ranipura in Indore is no less than the Petlawad incidence, many parts of the commercial capital of the state are calling for similar incidences as they are standing over gunpowder while the Government and the administration is sleeping. This incidence is also the result of negligent attitude of Government and administration.”

Yadav further said that despite deaths of several people in Petlawad and Rau cracker shop blast the Government and the administration has not taken any lessons. Though, for saying the licenses of cracker in densely populated areas have been cancelled but by greasing the palms of officers the selling and storage of crackers is going on in these areas as usual and the result of this is the incidence of Tuesday in that seven persons have lost their lives, many shops have been turned to ashes and financial loss of crores is being reported, he added.

He questioned that under whose patronage the illegal activity of selling and storing crackers was going on since years in those shops that does not have license to sale and store crackers.

Why no responsible officer ever visited these areas. Were the officials under some political pressure and how such a huge illegal storage of crackers took placeIJ

Why no attention was paid over many serious complaints of sale and huge illegal storage of crackers by local residents and tradersIJ

The State Congress president said that when the responsible administrative officers have admitted this as a huge administrative failure than why no action has been initiated against the guilty officers.

Why they have not been booked with murder charges, he added.
